A dear friend invited me to join a local rubber stamp group last month. At my first meeting, I met a group full of loving women who share the same love as me- paper and stamping. Our next meeting is this next week, and the November theme is leaves. How fitting it is that my dear friend gifted me a box of beautiful stamps from Close To My Heart. I was able to use a gorgeous leaves stamp set that was included in the box.

I first arranged and stamped the leaves with Versamark ink on Ranger watercolor paper, then heat embossed with clear Ranger embossing powder. I used 4 Ranger Distress Oxide inks autumn colors to do the background. I rubbed the ink pads down on my craft sheet, sprayed with water, and with an acetate sheet I picked up the ink and smooshed it onto the paper. I let the paper dry between each layer. I did 4 layers in all. I heat set the first three layers, then left my craft room for a couple hours for the last layer to dry naturally.

Next I used Simon Says Stamp Grateful die set to cut the word. I chose a bronze shimmer paper for the word. I used the bubble die to cut the shape out of the distressed paper. I die cut the word four times to layer for dimension. I used vellum to close the bubble hole.

I cut a cream colored A2 cardbase. I cut down the leaves paper to 5 1/2 x 2 1/8. I drew lines on the card for paper placement. I added a top and bottom line of double-sided adhesive so I could have a foil accent. I used 1/4 wide Scor Tape and Dark brown foil from Ranger’s Vintage foil set. I rubbed the foil sheet into the adhesive until it released from it’s backing.

I used Scor tape to adhere the watercolor paper to the card base. I stamped a small sentiment from Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes on the same bronze paper, heat embossed with white Avery Elle embossing powder, trimmed and adhered to card. I finished off with a few sequins.

I included a picture of the products I used. This was a longer card to make because of the distress oxide inks needing to dry. But it’s well worth the wait. I’m looking forward to Wednesday night’s meeting!
