Simon Says Stamp December card kit is adorable! Doodlebug Design’s Milk and Cookies paperline is the theme, and matching stamps and embellishments are included. I immediately thought about… Cookies! There’s a cute little gingerbread man stamp that inspired this card. I pulled out some coordinating cardstock and got busy.
I started with a top folding landscape A2 white cardbase. I cut bright pink card stock to 6.5×3.75 and scored at .5 inches on 3 sides to make a pocket. I added adhesive to the front of the flaps. I trimmed the bottom corners off, then folded the flaps inward so the adhesive would attatched to the card base.
Next I used Echo Park’s Happiness is Homemade apron die to die cut an apron with peppermint paper (from the included paper pack) and bright pink cardstock. I pieced the apron together, then glued it onto a large paper clip.
I matted the front pocket with pattern paper and used the backside of the double-sided paper to mat the pocket insert. I cut a long thin strip of pattern paper that says “Treats for Santa” (so fitting) and mounted it onto black cardstock and adhered to pocket. I stamped the inside of the card with a sentiment from the included stamp set named Christmas Squad.
Next I turned on my laptop and found my favorite gingerbread cookie recipe. I typed it out to fit on a 5 1/8 x 3 3/4 panel. After printing, I rounded the corners with a 1/2 inch punch and adhered to a green designer paper. I used a Bo Bunny’s die to cut out a tab and added that above the recipe. I added a couple stickers, then stuck the recipe card in the pocket. The finishing touch was clipping the apron onto the pocket.
I think this is an absolutely adorable card. It’s inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest months ago. (I’ll post a link below) I’ll be making a few more to send to dear friends I’m sure it’ll make them smile.
Thanks for stopping by!
