Spring Thinking Of You

Hello Spring!

BD71CAD2-F0D5-433A-9299-90532DC5343BHello everyone! It’s been a little while since my last post. Life has been busy in the Conrad household. Our biggest adventure these past few weeks was taking our baby girl to Florida for 9 days! I forgot how hard it is to travel with a 10 month old… but we did it, and had a great time. Our daughter loved the beach… and loved the sand! We couldn’t keep it out of her mouth. It’s good to be back, and getting back into my daily routine. It was a bit hard for me to be away from my craft room while in Florida. I made the decision to leave all crafts behind and take a break. I wanted to be excited and inspired for my next crafting adventure. Which leads me to some exciting news: I’m on my first design team!! It’s been hard sitting on this news. Now today’s the day I get to go public with it. I have been picked along with 4 other talented crafters to design for https://drivebycrafts.com/. Every week I will be posting  a blog featuring products from this store. The inventory is awesome! So many companies to choose from. I already have an idea of what I will be making in the near future, so get ready for some fun cards! Now onto tonight’s project…

I am so in love with the Hello Spring stamp set and coordinating die by Neat and Tangled. I’ve been excited to get my hands on it. It took me a couple hours tonight to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with it. This is one of the cards I came up with. I used a small rainbow of Distress Oxide inks to ink blend on Bristol Smooth cardstock after I had heat embossed with a stamp from the collection. I then cut the cardstock down to size for an A2 top folding card.

Next I picked out flowers from another newly released Neat and Tangled stamp set, Friendly Florals. After coloring with Zig Real Brush Markers, I used the coordinating dies to cut the flowers. I then mounted the large flower with foam tape, and positioned the smaller flowers behind it to make a bouquet. I adhered the bouquet near the bottom of the card.

I then die cut the word Spring four times out of white cardstock, and the background shadow out of pink shimmer paper by Sizzix. I heat embossed the word Hello on the same pink paper, using Versamark ink and Avery Elle white embossing powder. I backed both words with foam tape and adhered to the card. My finishing touch was adding Neat and Tangled iridescent sequins, and a fun sentiment inside.

I am so pleased on how this card turned out. I’m looking forward to my next card I will be making with this stampset. It’s time to get some happy and bright cards in the mail!

thanks for stopping by, and be sure to subscribe for future posts.
