YOU Made My Day!

E5AC9138-9D85-4B15-8658-AEEC4B24C11CHi friends! So I’ve been playing a lot lately with my Zig Real Brush Markers.  I was on the fence about buying them, then I saw a price on Amazon I just couldn’t pass up. With my husband’s blessing, I purchased them, and they were delivered later that night! (Love me some Amazon!) I’ve made a few cards doing some really pretty watercoloring. Though it is time intensive, the results are beautiful. The pigments are so bright! Zigs are probably my favorite color medium at the moment. I decided to try them out in a different, quicker way for these cards.

I cut a sheet of Canson Watercolor paper down to 4 panels. I stamped with background stamps (Impression Obsession Layered Pansies and Simon Says Stamp Cosmos) with Versamark ink, poured embossing powder on them, and heat embossed. I then picked out green, purples, and blue shades of my Zigs to color 3 panels, and pinks, reds, and oranges for the other panel.  I taped the panels to a clipboard using painters tape, and loosely started coloring. I used one color at a time, coloring in circles in random spots. Once the paper was filled, I sprayed a generous amount of water onto the ink. I used my heat gun to dry the paper. Each took about 5 minutes.

I wanted these panels to be the main focus for my cards, so I kept the embellishments simple. I die cut large words by My Favorite Things, and finish the sentiment with the matching stamp set for the words. I stacked 4 words at a time for depth. I covered them with Tonic Crystal Glaze, and let them dry over night. The next day I cut the panels down to fit  an A2 Card, attatched them with Scor Tape, and used Ranger Multi Media Matte to attatched the words and heat embossed sentiments. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh confetti for the finishing touch.I love the simplicity of these cards. I will be making more of these in the near future.
