Sweet As Ice Cream!

Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends! Today I have a set of SWEET ice cream cards. Waffle Flower Crafts has yet again made me one happy girl! I took advantage of a (VERY) early morning in my house. I brewed a cup of coffee, went to my craft room, and pulled this Waffle Flower Crafts Sweet Ice Cream stamp set out.

I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do just yet for a layout, so I put all the characters in my MISTI and stamped them onto Crafter’s Companion Premium Ultra Smooth Cardstock. I colored them all with Copic markers, then cut them out. The turquoise green I had colored some of the ice cream with matched my Nuvo Atlantis Burst Shimmer Powder perfectly, so I decided to incorporate it into this card. I taped a piece of watercolor paper to a clipboard, gently tapped some powder around the paper, then generously sprayed with water. I moved the clipboard around in a circle to get the pigments to move. I then used my heat tool to dry it. I set that aside, then decided on coordinating pattern paper. I chose a couple sheets from My Favorite Things Party Patterns 6×6 Paper Pack, and a thin strip of pink glitter paper. I stamped the included sentiment onto white cardstock, then used My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die to trim the bottom. I used a scrap piece of bright pink paper and stamped the word SWEET on it with Nuvo Embossing Ink, heat embossed it using Hero Arts White Embossing Powder, and cut it out. I assembled the card by attaching all the papers together, and trimming it down to 4×5.25. I picked the four adorable colored characters, popped them and the word SWEET with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares, and attached to the card front. I then adhered the cardfront to a top-folding A2 size cardbase.

For my second card, I used the cherry stamp to make my pattern paper. (It was my favorite stamp to color) I randomly stamped the cherry on the left side of a 4.25×5.5 white cardstock panel, going about 1/3 of the way in. I then picked out the mice couple and the big ice cream cone. I already had my scalloped edge die out, so I die cut a piece of black cardstock with it. Since I already used the sentiment that came in this stamp, I pulled out Waffle Flower Crafts Rainbow Stamp Set, and made a sentiment out of two stamps. I also squeezed in the SWEET word, (I just love that font!) using red cardstock to make it stand out. I stamped the words with embossing ink, and heat set with white embossing powder. I also cut a thin strip of red cardstock, and added it on top of the black scalloped edge, using Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. I adhered all the papers together, trimmed the panel down, and adhered to a top-folding A2 size card base. I used foam squares to adhere the mice, and glue to adhere the ice cream cone and sentiment.

I’m so in love with how these cards turned out. They’re so happy and cheerful, and can easily make anyone smile!
