Thinking Of You

The Stamp Market Friendly Bunch

Hello Everyone! I’m so glad it’s finally Friday… YAY! Saturdays are my favorite day of the week. It’s a dedicated day for me in my craft room. Last Saturday though, I changed things up. I spent the day in my den, binge-watching season 2 of one of my favorite TV shows, and colored my biggest coloring project yet. Today I get to share with you.

I chose this beautiful stamp set by The Stamp Market called Friendly Bunch. I stamped the image in my MISTI with a fade-out ink for a no-line look, then pulled out my Faber-Castell Polychromos. I spent a lot of time looking over my color chart, deciding on what colors I wanted to use. I ended up with a beautiful variety of earth-toned colors. The stamp itself has gorgeous thick lines, making it easy for me to know where to add details and shading. I started with the flower petals, slowly adding layers of colors. I then moved onto the petals and stems.

When I was finished, the flower looked like it was floating in air, so I added shading with warm grey pencils. I admit this was an all day project, but so well worth it. Pencil coloring takes a lot of time and patience, but I stuck with it, and am so happy with the end result.
