Love Thank You Thinking Of You

Safari Friends!

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe the weekend is finally here? Just in time to get in a crafty mood. I have a fantastic set to introduce you to. My Favorite Things Safari Friends. Oh these friends are the cutest, and the stamp set comes with 9 playful sentiments! Let me show you a couple quick and simple cards I made.

Card 1:

You’re Worth Roaring About… this card I kept a very simple layout, and used what I thought to be safari colors. Out of habit, I always pull out my MISTI and stamp all images onto copic-friendly paper. I then start practicing with color. Once I know what colors I like, I stamp another sheet and recolor. My first sheet has all the colors I used for each animal written down. This will go in the stamp sleeve when the set is put away so I have it for future use. This is a method I found that works great for me. So here’s the Copic color combinations I used:

I then picked out the lion and the hippo to work with the sentiments I chose. I did a quick Distress Oxide ink blend in colors Spice Marmalade and Fossilized Amber for a sunset. I die-cut a circle out of it with Avery Elle’s Largest Wonky Circles Frame. I also die-cut grass from a die in my personal collection. I glued the lion and the bird down with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, then heat embossed the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Embossing Ink and white embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment strip down and attached it to the cardfront using Scrapbook Adhesives 3D foam Squares. I then used a scrap of pattern paper, and chunky rose gold glitter paper to finish the card off.

Card 2:

This card… it has my husband written all over it. It will find a home in the near future in his lunchbox. He tells me all the time “I Love You A Ton!” Perfect! I took two heart dies in my person stash and die- cut the window and the heart. The heart is from watercolor paper I colored a few weeks back with Cherry Bomb and Solar Flair Nuvo Shimmer Powders. I attached it with 3D foam squares. I again heat embossed the sentiment, used My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment Strips Dienamics to trim, and glued to the card. I used W3, W1, & W0 to color a small shadow for the hippo,  popped the hippo up with foam squares, and the card was done!

Thanks For Stopping By!
