Halloween Thinking Of You

Frightfully Sweet!

Hello Crafty Friends! I have a couple of HALLOWEEN cards to share today! Isn’t it a little early for Halloween some might ask. And I say no! Not when there’s a new adorable set by My Favorite Things called Frightfully Sweet. And these critters sure are sweet. Let me show you what I did:

CARD 1:

I put all the critters in my MISTI and colored them all at once. After I cut them out, I picked a couple sentiments that would work for my cards. I used Lawn Fawn Scalloped Circle Windows Die Set to cut out the windows in both cards. For card one, I decided on using 3 Nuvo Shimmer Powders to make the night sky: Storm Cloud, Cherry Bomb, and Violet Brocade. After the paper was dry, I splattered white acrylic paint and Perfect Pearl, both mixed with water, onto the night sky. I stamped the sentiment onto the front panel, and used foam tape to attach the front panel onto the watercolor paper. This is when I realized I mess up. I wanted to make this a shaker card. but I wasn’t going to try to take everything apart, so I improvised. I added the critters with Scrapbook Adhesive 3D Foam Squares around the sentiment, and mounted the panel on a black card base.

This is about as simple as a card gets for me. I saw the sentiment, I saw the bunny, and then I saw a card. Though this time I did decide to make it into a shaker card. I die cut the circle on the trimmed panel, and added acetate to shut the window. I used thin adhesive strips to wrap around the back of the circle, and added iridescent stars. I closed the window with purple glitter cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment using Lawn Fawn’s Embossing Ink and White Embossing Powder. I cut the strip with My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment Strips Dienamics, and glued it to the card front with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube. I added the Bunny using 3D adhesive squares, and attached the panel to a black cardbase with foam tape.

And now you have 2 Halloween cards to inspire you to start making holiday cards. Happy Crafting!
