Autumn/Thanksgiving Halloween Thinking Of You

Pretty Pink Posh September Product Release Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends! I’m so excited to be part of this 2-day Pretty Pink Posh September New Release Blog Hop. I’m such a huge fan of Pretty Pink Posh, and am always eager to get my hands on their new releases. This release has got me so excited that fall is almost here! So many playful critters, pumpkins, leaves, jewels… I could spend days just creating paper happiness in my little crafty world. Let me share with you four cards (and step-by-step pictures) I have made for this special event.

This was my first card I made when I received my package from Pretty Pink Posh. I went through all my new items, and stopped at this classy Fall Tags die set. I loved the simplicity of them, and I knew I could make a quick card with minimal supplies.  I pulled out a sheet of white cardstock, and cut it down to 4 panels. For the first panel, I added a trimmed down double-sided adhesive sheet to the back. I die-cut the tags in a random, but orderly fashion, so I can attach the tags in the same manner on the next panel. After I attached all the leaves, I die cut one more tag out of orange cardstock. I stamped and heat-embossed a perfect sized sentiment from the Fall Scene stamp set, then glued the tag on top of another same shaped tag. I di-cut the largest bow from the Twine and Bows die set 3 times with chocolate cardstock, stacked and glued them together with Ranger Multi Media, Matte, and attached it to the top of the tag. I glued the last two white panels together, trimmed them down slightly, and used double-sided adhesive to add to the back of the leaves panel for a little height. (I do this often when I think fun foam will give too much height.) I attached the panel to an A2 size cardbase, and finished off with a few Espresso Jewels. This quick and simple card took less than 30 minutes to make, from start to finish.

A Happy Halloween shaker card… yes please! For this card I used Halloween Pals stamp set and coordinating dies. After I stamped and Copic-colored the adorable fur-babies, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. For the shaker element, I taped together the the large rectangle from Stitched Notes die set and Storybook 6 die, and die cut black cardstock. I stamped the background watercolor  paper with the small paws and stars from the stamp set with embossing ink, heat-set with white embossing powder, then ink-blended with Wilted Violet and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide inks. When finished, I used a paper towel to to wipe the ink off the embossed images. For the sentiment, I stamped onto heat-resistant acetate, heat-set the white embossing powder, and used 1/8 Scor Tape to attach the acetate to the inside of the  frame.

I then used 2 layers of thin foam strips to close up each window section, and filled the windows up with Blue Lagoon, Midnight Black, and Marigold Jewels, as well as Iridescent Mini Star Confetti. I closed the back with the stamped background paper. I attatched the shaker to a white A2 cardbase, and added the cute Halloween critters with thin 3D foam squares.

This Cuddly Cats stamp set arrived right on time. My dear friend, (really known as the crazy cat lady!) asked me if I was ever going to get cat stamps. She’s been dying for a handmade cat card. No kidding! So the whole time I was working with these stamps and coordinating dies, I had her in mind. This is a great set. There’s 6 adorable cat images, and fun little cat toys. I used my MISTI to stamp all the images out at the same time. I Copic-colored them, then die-cut. I ended up with 3 cards. I kept these cards fairly simple. For the first card, I masked a straight line on an A2-size cardbase, and lightly blended Warn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink to make a dainty background. I stamped the sentiment, used thin 3D foam squares to add the cats, and finished off with some beautiful Raspberry Jewels. How simple is that?!

For the next card, I stamped the cats in random order on grey cardstock with embossing ink. I filled in all the blank areas with the toys and little words. I then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Peach Bellini Prestige cardstock, taped the two papers together, and used the large rectangle die from Stitched Notes to trim the panel. I also die-cut black cardstock with the same die, and used the outside frame to accent the papers. I glued on a small strip of black cardstockto separate the peach paper from the grey, then attached the cute cat (my favorite from the set) and toy mouse using thin 3D foam squares. My last step was adding the card front to an A2-size cardbase with double-sided adhesive. These colors I normally wouldn’t put together, but I’m glad I did. I love how they work together.
