Birthday Thinking Of You

Friendship Rocks!

Happy Thursday crafty friends! today I am showcasing My Favorite Things Friendship Rocks stamp set. These singing friends are so darling! The set comes with three singing girls, a platform, and 10 sentiments, making a lot of card-making options. Here’s two that I made for today:

Using my MISTI, I stamped out the girls and platforms with Copic-friendly ink, and colored with Copic Markers. I used a white gel pen and the darkest matched-color marker to add dots/sparkle to each girl. for the black bows and skirts, I added black dots with a black fine-point Sharpie. I then put the paper back into my MISTI and re-stamped with VersaFine CLAIR. (I do this after most of my copic coloring to bring a brightness to my characters.) I ink-blended my backgrounds on watercolor paper. (This is the easiest paper for me to get an even blend.) First, I masked off the bottom of the panels. For the blue card, I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, and Chipped Saphire and Black Soot Distress inks.

For the pink, I used Aged Mahogany, Worn Lipstick, and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks. For the pink, I also used My Favorite Things In The Spotlight stencil. I used a smallnsponge dauber to add Lawn Fawn Yeti White Pigment Ink for the light source.

I then lightly splattered watered-down white acrylic paint for background sparkle, and used a white gel pen to add more dots, especially on the spotlight sides. Once the paint and ink were dry, I stamped the sentiments, and sprayed the panels with shimmer spray for more sparkle. I glued the panels to two premade A2 size cardbases with Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, and added the cut out girls and platforms with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D foam squares. My final touch was adding a few star sequins.
