Christmas Cards

Concord & 9th: Merry & Bright & Holiday Cheer

Hello Friends! It’s another Feature Friday for Concord & 9th, and the focus today is on Merry & Bright Stamps and Dies, and the Holiday Cheer tags Bundle. I’ve made 4 cards and an adorable set of tags featuring these products to share with you.

Cards:

CB95586F-5B79-408F-A6F9-ED082ACB97EDFor this first card, I wanted The Merry and Bright script die to be the main focus. I kept the card simple, and decided to not used embellishments. I made a subtle background by stamping lines onto the dark card stock using the 3 solid lines strip stamp from the Happy Plaids stamp set. I die cut the script out three times: 2 times with white cardstock, and one time using Tutu glitter paper. I stamped and heat-embossed the top part of the sentiment with Lawn Fawn embossing ink and Brutus Monroe Alabaster embossing powder. next, I glued the die cuts together. I glued the first white die cut slightly to the upper left of the glitter word, and the other to she slightly lower right side. I love the shadow look this script has. I attached the panel to an A2 size card base.
2D27F426-9DA8-4E02-97B9-41813C480342For my next two cards, I used the script die in a different way. I cut the words apart. I die cut the script two times with white cardstock, then I die cut Bright with red glitter paper, and Merry with gold glitter paper. For the stamped sentiment, I stamped the curvered words and the ampersand with Versafine Black Onyx ink.870A60F4-0512-435C-B2BB-5CFBF32CFE7A (For the Ampersand, I masked the words from the Merry & Bright stamp.) I Stamped Joyful with Versafine Satin Red ink. I heat embossed the words with Brutus Monroe Icicle embossing powder. I used the lightbulb stamp from the Merry & Bright stamp set to make the background for the first card, stamping randomly in different colors, then followed up with the little  light glow stamp, using yellow ink. I trimmed and glued the die cuts together, added them to the panel, then attached the panel to a red A2 size cardbase. I finished off with some Pretty Pink Posh Marigold jewels.

3861A800-75F0-4718-8F98-7F2CB3A75A4BI stacked the word Merry for this card, and built a sentiment around it using stamps from Cozy Christmas. I used the Deck The Hall turnabout stamp for the background, and die cut a couple holly with glitter paper that comes with the script die After putting the card together, I finished it off with some Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry jewels.

CE90DA89-AF58-461E-A25D-E44C1E3C9D1FFor my last card, I again kept it simple. I used the two diamonds stamps from Merry & Bright to stamp the background Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. I used the ornament die from the Holiday Cheer Tag Dies  to make the red glitter ornament. I also used the topper and starburst dies to accent the ornament. I inlayed white glitter paper in the starburst. I used a T-ruler and a fine point sharpie to draw the string, and stamped the bow.

I die cut a few gold glitter stars, glued them on for accents, the attached the panel to an A2 size cardbase.

BA3A7F05-7618-45E4-994D-B2C1056ED67DThe Holiday Cheer Tags Bundle is my favorite from the release. I LOVE to wrap and give away presents. This tag set will make every gift this Christmas have a very personal touch. The stamp set has so many cute paring of words, all in great fonts. I made 4 stamd alone tags in this first picture showcasing the stamps. I also used the Christmas tree stamp and Die from the Cozy Christmas Bundle. I had a left over Happy Plaids panel from last week’s projects, so I used that on the Merry and Bright tag. I played around with different ink colors, but kept the tones in traditional Christmas colors. I think a fun tag set like this could also make a great handmade gift to give to friends and family this season.

996B127C-AF04-4DDB-8EB4-C243935F51BDThe die set also comes with an envelope die to slide the tags in. this second set of pictures showcases the envelopes. I kept the envelopes simple, using lightweight kraft and white cardstock. (I recommend a 65 or 80 lb cardstock for these envelopes.) I folded the flaps on the scored lines, then used 1/8th inch Scor Tape to close them up. I kept the pocket decorations very simple. The snowflake stamp I used from Snow Flurries stamp set. I cut gold glitter for the tops of the inserted tags, and stamped “To: and From:” on the tags. I also stamped either an ornament or a snowflake in a light ink in the middle of the tags.

  1. These are such gorgeous projects! I’m not even a CaS person, but I loved your cards and tags! My favourite one has to be the “Have yourself a merry little Christmas” one, the colours are fantastic, classy amount of glitter and it looks so festive. Great stuff! <3
