Autumn/Thanksgiving Thinking Of You

Hello Fall!

Happy Thursday friends! I have a couple of adorable Lawn Fawn Thanks A Latte cards I want to share with you today. The first card is a simple layout, and the second card is more technique happy.

I started by stamping out several mugs and coloring them. I tried out different color combinations, picking out my favorites in the end. After I cut the images out, I decided to add little faces to the mugs. (Too Cute!!) I picked out 2 coordinating pattern papers from Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Fall Petite Paper pack, used a scallop border die to cut a strip of red cardstock, and glued the papers together with Lawn Fawn Tube Glue. I stamped and heat set the sentiment, using Lawn Fawn embossing ink and Lawn Fawn white embossing powder. I added the mugs with Scrapbook Adhesive’s 3D foam squares, and attached the panel to a A2 size card base.

For this card, I decided to make a 1 layer scene. My first step was stamping the images on masking paper, then cutting them out. After stamping each layer in my MISTI, I would cover them with the masking paper, starting with the top layer. (Green mug and whipped dallop) To add the leaves to the red mug, I used the negative part of the masking paper to be sure only to stamp on the mug.

Once the stamping and masking was complete, I used Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink to the background for a soft glow, and Copic markers to color in the mug shadows.

Next step is my favorite: taking off the masks. The masks are so dirty, and its always so much fun to see how clean the scene is at the reveal.

I finished the card front with coloring. I used the same color combinations from the first card. I trimmed the panel down with a stitched rectangle die, glued it to pattern paper, and added it to an A2 size cardbase.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you get the chance, I highly recommend picking up this stamp set. It is sooooo adorable, and can be used many times in the fall and winter months!

  1. I absolutely love these cards! I almost didn’t buy this set and then caved and haven’t looked back! haha! I’m curious, on the first card – what are the measurements for the background papers? I love the it!

    1. I used the large outside-in LF Stitched rectangle. I believe it’s 4×5.25. I glued all the papers together, then die cut for an even and clean cut.

  2. Angelica I ADORE them both! Love how you did the masking !!! I love this set so much! I have a few colored I just need to decide my foam color and put them together! 😂 Happy Crafting! ❤️

    1. Thank you! I colored mine with E50 for a “pumpkin cream” feel. Then used .03 micro pen dots in orange for cinnamon flecks.
