Hi crafty friends! I have a couple fun and bright birthday cards to share. I used Sugar Pea Designs Birthday Balloons stamp set and coordinating Die.
I made these cards two ways: no-line Copic coloring on white cardstock for the first, and ink-blending on colored cardstock for the second. Both ways turned out with the very similar shading results. For the ink-blended card (shown above), I used a finger dauber to add ink. I stamped the balloon with a fade-out ink. (I wanted no outside lines.) After the shading was done, I stamped the second-layer stamps that are included in the set. (The stars are my personal favorite!) I used embossing ink, then heat-set with white Embossing Powder. I cut the balloons out with the coordinating die, and set them aside. For the card front, I picked out matching Distress Oxide inks- Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, Spiced Marmalade, and Abandoned Coral between the two cards. I used a finger dauber again to add a “glow” behind the balloons.
I watered-down the same inks on my craft mat, and added splatters to the card front. Once the paper was dry, I stamped the sentiment, drew straight black lines for balloon strings, and added a couple strips of striped paper from My Favorite Things Party Patterns Paper Pack. I trimmed the panels down on each side, and attached them to2 A2 size card bases. (Copic-colored balloons shown below)
I love the 3D effect these stamped balloons have. This is a great birthday stamp set to have in your stamp supply!
Thanks for stopping by!
