My Favorite Things Heart Tree

Sometimes the hardest cards for me to make are Clean and Simple (CAS) cards. I want to keep adding embellishments and papers, instead of knowing when to just stop and walk away. For this project  I decided to keep to very minimal supplies, and do a CAS theme. I made the My Favorite Things Heart Tree Die-namics be the focal point for each of the four cards I am sharing today.

I pulled out My Favorite Things Essential Sentiments stamp set and picked 4 sentiments that coordinated with the heart tree. I die-cut the tree from four white 4 x 5.25 panels in different spots, then stamped the sentiments.

I backed two of the card fronts with Neenah desert storm paper for a clean Kraft look for the leaves. I die-cut the tree four times from Poppy Prestige (red) card stock, and used the two hearts to add color to the trees. I also die-cut four trees from Neenah Desert Storm card Stock, and used the tree trunks.

For the other two cards, I backed the die cut tree with a square of double-sided adhesive. I then sprinkled Platinum Distress Glitter dust over the adhesive. I used the adhesive square backing paper to push the glitter into the adhesive to make sure the glitter was stuck and secured.

I cut the craft foam into four panels to back the card fronts with, and glued them to A2 size card bases. My final touch was shimmer and Tonic Crystal Glaze to the red hearts.
