My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge

Happy Wednesday friends!  I’m so excited to share some news…  I’ve been invited to be February’s featured designer for the weekly Sketch Challenge on the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog.  Every Wednesday this month I’ll be sharing a project following the weekly sketch.
For those of you that are new to the Sketch Challenge, it’s a weekly challenge in which you can create and link up any project you make inspired from the sketch provided.  And the best part is you’ll have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to the MFT shop!
Here’s this week’s sketch:

I used the new Party Penguins stamp set to make my birthday card interpretation of this sketch.
Sketch 423a
These sweet penguins and their balloons were my first thought when I saw this sketch. The penguins are two stamps’ and I found it easiest to stamp the bodies first, die-cut with the coordinating Die-namics, then stamp the feet and beaks with orange ink.

I stamped the sentiment with embossing ink onto black card stock, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used a Stitched Sentiment Strip Die-namics to trim the card stock. I trimmed a white card stock with the largest Wonky Stitch Rectangle STAX. After I stamped and die-cut the balloons, I used my T-Ruler to draw balloon strings.

I attached the penguins, balloons, and sentiment with foam adhesive squares, then added the card front to an A2 size card base. My final touch was adding white gel pen highlights and Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the balloons.

I can’t wait to see what fun projects you all make this week! bBe sure to head over to the MFT Card Challenge page to enter. I’ll be back next Wednesday with a new sketch and project. See you then!
