Pretty Pink Posh Magnolia Flowers

I’ve had a basket of Ranger Alcohol Inks sitting in my closet for months. I decided yesterday to pull them out and make a background for these gorgeous Magnolia Flowers.

I stamped the flowers onto Artistico Extra White Cold Press Watercolor Pater with Antique linen Distress ink,  and used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the flowers:

I drew small lines of color onto each petal, then used a #4 round watercolor brush to move the pigments around. I did this a few times with each color, letting the sections dry between each layer.

I used Alcohol Blending Solution, Flamingo and Salmon alcohol inks on Tim Holtz Glossy Alcohol Ink Cardstock to make the background. I added a bit of solution first onto the middle right side of the panel, then hold the paper up at an angle. I added the two colors next to each other, and used a straw to blow the colors down. After the paper was dry, I cut the panel down to 4 x 5.25, then attached it to a card base with foam tape. I added the flowers using different depth sizes of foam adhesive and glue to make layers.  I stamped and gold heat-embossed a sentiment from Birdie Friends on white card stock, trimmed it to a thin strip, and attached it to the card with thin foam squares.

I am glad I used my alcohol inks. I love the different texture it brought to this card.

That’s all that I have for today. Thanks for stopping by!
