Pinkfresh Studio April Release Blog Hop

Hello PinkFresh Studio friends! I’m so excited to be part of the Pinkfresh Studio April Release Blog Hop. If you’re hopping along today, you should be arriving from the talented Alix Davis blog. A full list of the hop lineup is listed below, as well as details for giveaways on today’s hop!

There’s so many beautiful new products in this release, and I picked out a few to showcase today. I’ll start first with a clean and simple card made with the beautiful Through The Trees Stamp Set.

This stamp set includes a gorgeous background stamp of trees, and inspiring sentiments. I picked a warm gray card stock and coordinating ink to stamp the background. I stamped and white heat-embossed my favorite sentiment from the set.

For my next project, I pulled out a few Tim Holtz Alcohol Pearl inks and made a few backgrounds. I picked my two favorite panels and used the new Leafy Wreaths Die Set to die-cut these wreaths.

I put together  the sentiment by using words from the new Folk Hummingbird Stamp Set. I love the print and script fonts together. Since the leaves inside the wreath are only partially cut, I used my fingers to bend them upwards for extra dimension.

The pearl inks combo Enchanted, Deception, Splendor, and Alchemy were perfect for this warm-toned wreath.

Tranquil, Intrigue, and Villainous Pearl inks made the panel for my second wreath. I splattered black ink onto the card panels before attaching the wreaths.

For my last card, I used the flower image from the new Folk Hummingbird Stamp Set. I pulled out my Polychromos and pencil sharpener and sat down for a coloring session.

I will admit, this took me a little while to color. I stamped the image with InkOn3 Fadeout ink, then softly colored several layers to get the shading that I wanted, especially with the flower. I worked from lightest to darkest colors, sharpening my pencils quite often.

On Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, I used Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks to blend the background. I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set, and used foam squares to attach the flower I had cut out using the coordinating die.

I hope I have given you a few ideas for this fabulous release. I’m so excited for your next stop on the hop, my talented friend Ashlea Cornell.
