Today begins the MFT Spotlight Poppies Card Kit Release previews! The Kit will be available this Tuesday, May 21st, at 10am EST. Here’s what’s included in the kit:
I have two cards to share today using the Poppies Background Stamp. My first card I stamped embossing ink onto watercolor paper, and heat-embossed with white embossing powder.
I taped the stamped panel to a clipboard, and used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to add color. After I finished coloring, I sprayed the watercolor paper with water, and let the colors move on their own. I love using this technique with watercolor pens. I chose a sentiment from Sweet Friends Stamp Set to stamp and white heat-emboss onto black card stock, then die-cut the sentiment with a Skinny Strips Die-namics. I used foam squares to add the sentiment strip to the card panel, then foam adhesive to add the panel to an A2 size card base.
For my next card, I stamped and white heat-embossed the stamp again, this time on gray card stock.
The card kit also includes Poppy Blooms stamps. These poppies are the same flowers in the background stamp, making it easy to do a spotlight card. I stamped a flower onto another piece of gray card stock, then used Zig markers again to color the flower. I used a round #4 watercolor brush to move the pigment around. After I finished, I used the coordinating Dienamics to cut it out. I attached it the card front with foam squares, then tucked in a sentiment from the Greetings and Salutations stamp set.
