It’s day 3 of Taylored Expressions June Release sneak peeks, and there’s a new round of products being featured today on the TE blog. The design team has put together amazing projects to share for inspiration. This release will be available for purchase tomorrow morning, June 6, at 9 AM CST in the TE Shop.
I used the New Wildflower Background to make this bright and cheerful card. I smooshed TE watercolors onto watercolor paper using a small sheet of acetate. I let the panel dry between colors. When I was finished, I splattered on more watercolor with a paintbrush. I stamped the background with Oreo ink, then heat set it with clear embossing powder. For the card base, I white heat-embossed a sentiment from the Dadisms stamp set, then attached the trimmed panel.

I am sure you can find tutorials on YouTube. I used a sheet of acetate to transfer watercolor from my mat to my paper. Acetate helps you have control of the placement of ink.

I’m trying the technique but mine looks like the work of a 4-y/o.
Did you WET the watercolor paper BEFORE adding the colors? I do get using the sheet of acetate, and have watched several different tutorials…but wonder if you did wet your paper before!??
Thank you! I didn’t water my paper. I did push the acetate into the paper, and held it there for a few seconds to let the paint sink in. Then I would dry the paint with my heat tool, and move on to a new color.
