Thinking Of You

Pretty Pink Posh June Release Blog Hop

Surfboards, hibiscus flowers, tropical birds…… are you ready for a new PPP Release?? Today is Day 1 of a two-day Pretty Pink Posh blog hop. If you’re arriving from the talented Adelle Emery’s blog, you’re in the right spot. You can see the entire release HERE. A full list of the hop lineup is listed below, as well as details for giveaways on this two-day hop!

I made three cards for today’s hop using the same layout. Each card has a glittery stenciled background, and a stitched frame made with the rectangle from the Stitched Notes die set.

My first card features the new Hibiscus Flowers stamp set. I colored the images with Copic Markers, then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I blended Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink over the new Tropical Background Stencil before adding a thin layer of Brutus Monroe Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze. Once the panel was dry,  I trimmed it down and attached it to the card front. I backed the panel with craft foam, and attached it to an A2 size card base. I stamped and white heat-embossed Aloha from the new Tropical Birds stamp set, and then used thin foam squares to add the sentiment and flowers to the card.

I used the same Tropical Background stencil for my second card.

I used the bright Twisted Citron Distress Oxide to blend over the stencil before adding the glitter glaze. I Copic-colored a bird from the Tropical Birds stamp set, and used the coordinating die to cut it out. The branch is from the Tropical Toucans stamp set, and the coordinating die was used to cut it out. I stamped a sentiment from the Summer Surfboards stamp set before assembling the card.

For my last card, I used the new Triangles Stencil to make my background.

I masked off rows of triangles, and blended Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, and Twisted Citron Distress Oxides before adding the glitter glaze.  I die-cut Happy Summer twice from white card stock, and once from raspberry card stock, then stacked and glued them together. I brushed the words with a Nuvo shimmer pen, and added a coat of Nuvo Crystal Glaze for shine.
