Yesterday I shared a card using all three of the Ken Oliver Color Burst powders. Today I used Tropical Teal.

I will be honest… this card turned out completely different than what I had planned. I stamped and heat embossed the flowers onto watercolor paper. I used the Color Burst powders to color the panel, but the colors pooled together, and it became a muddy mess. Instead of throwing the panel away though, I sprayed the flowers with water, picked up as much color with a paper towel as I could, then colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used colors 260 Deep Red, 52 Bright Yellow, and 43 Olive Green. I let the panel dry, then used the coordinating die to cut them out.

On another piece of watercolor paper, I tapped a small amount of Tropical Teal Color Burst powder to make my background. I sprayed large droplets of water onto the powder, and used my heat tool to quickly dry the panel for the splotchy look. I trimmed the panel with a Stitched Rectangle STAX die, and used the Thanks stamp included in the Flowers in Bloom set for the sentiment. I added the die-cut flowers to the panel with thin foam squares, then trimmed the stems and petal. I added the panel to a card base with foam adhesive.
