We’re at the halfway mark! There’s a whole new round of fabulous products being shown today on the MFT Blog, including the new fabulous Celebrate With Cake Die-namics.

In celebration of MFT’s anniversary month, I picked their signature colors to decorate this card: pink, black, and white. After die-cutting the stand and pink frosting ribbons from white card stock, I started with my coloring. Beginning with Copic Markers R81, R83, and R85, I colored the pink frosting. I then used Copic Markers N5, N3, and N1 to color the cake stand, and cool gray Polychromos to add fine shadow lines.

I used Tickled Pink card stock for the cake, blending Cotton Candy ink on the edges. I used Slate card stock for the black frosting ribbons, adding shading with Copic Markers N8, N4, and N2. Lastly, I used Black Licorice card stock for the Celebrate cake topper. I die-cut the word Celebrate three times, stacking and gluing them together for added dimension.

I used Tickled Pink and Cotton Candy ink with the new Card-Sized Star Confetti Stencil Set to make a fun background. I added a wide strip of Black and White pattern paper, and a thin strip of Tickled Pink card stock to the panel before die-cutting it with a stitched rectangle Die-namics. I used foam adhesive to attach the panel to a white card base, then adhered the cake to the card with glue. My final touch was adding shimmer and Crystal Glaze to the frosting ribbons and Celebrate cake topper.
