My Favorite Things Color Challenge

Who’s ready for an MFT Color Challenge?? Here’s this week’s Color Combo:

All of the details about the Color Challenge can be found on the MFT blog; you’ll also find ideas there from the design team to help get you started.

How fun is this color combination?? it was perfect for the balloons on this cheery birthday card. I blended Pineapple, Poppy, Orange Zest, and Blue Raspberry MFT inks over the Big Balloons Stencil for the background. I used a T-ruler and a glitter gel pen to add strings. I trimmed the panel with a stitched rectangle STAX, and attached it to a card base with foam adhesive.

I used letters from the new Impact Alphabet Die-namics to die-cut 3 times from Poppy card stock and once from white card stock. I did the same with the exclamation point from the Impact Numbers Die-namics. I stacked and glued the poppy letters together, then glued them to the white letters, slightly off to the right side for a small shadow. I glued the words to the card, using a T-ruler as a guide for straight and even placement.

I stamped a sentiment from the new Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set with poppy ink, then heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment with a Skinny Strips Die-namics, and attached it to the card with thin foam squares.

My final step was adding sparkle with a shimmer pen to the letters, and shine with Crystal Glaze.

Now it’s your turn! Be sure to head over to the MFT blog for all the details on how you can enter the challenge and have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to the MFT Shop! Thanks for stopping by!
