My Favorite Things September Release Countdown: Day 5

It’s time to start the countdown to the My Favorite Things September Release! There’s so many cute sneak peeks on the MFT blog today, including this new Birdie Brown Sweater Weather In The Woods stamp set.

It was love at first sight for me when I saw these sweaters! I immediately stamped these friends out and colored them with the following Copic Markers:

  • Moose- E41, E43, E44, E47, W5, W3, W1, W00
  • Beaver- E41, E43, E44, E47, E49
  • Bear- W5,W3, W1, W0, W00, R00, R000
  • Sweater Color Combos- Green: YG91, YG95, YG97, YG99; Yellow: Y21, Y23, YR23, E33; Burnt Orange: E47, E09, E07

For the background, I stamped and white heat-embossed the new Knitted Sweater Background (LOVE!) onto watercolor paper. I tapped Fall Green, Golden Sparkler, and Solar Flare Nuvo Shimmer Powders onto the paper, and sprayed with water. Once the panel was dry, I used an A2 Rectangle Frame to cut out the window.

I blended Kraft and Orange Zest ink at the bottom of a card base before attaching the background frame with Scor tape. I die-cut three frames, stacked and glued them, then glued them inside the frame. I stamped the sentiment, then attached the friends with foam squares to finish the card.

Stop by the MFT Blog for more product sneak peeks, and to see what the MFT design family has created. Everything you see this week will be available on Release Day – Tuesday, September 3rd– at 10am EST. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love the knitted background for these super cute critters with sweaters, love the color combos on your awesome coloring!

    1. Adorable card!!! I love the little critters all dressed in their woodsy colored sweaters, and your knitted background is blended beautifully to match the critters sweaters.
Excited for release day, and you’ve only just begun.

      1. Oh goodness! You’re right- it’s only just begun. You’re going to love what’s coming. I don’t know how MFT does it! Every release is stellar!❤️

  2. Just when I tell myself that I really don’t “need” to buy any more stamps these cute, darling, amazing critters come along! I love everything about your card!!!

    1. Pigment powders are so fun- but yes, a bit intimidating. I love the shimmer powders because they’re softer in color. A little goes a long way. And I usually use them for coloring background stamps. The Falling leaves Gold Sparkler are really light colors. If you want to pick up a couple to try, I recommend those. And when you get more comfortable, then there’s Ken Oliver Colorbursts. Those are wildly pigmented! I love them. Check out YouTube. There’s great resources on these products. That’s how I learned to use them. ❤️

  3. Love your beautiful card❣🥰 that bg is so warm and will be so great for many fall and winter cards. Also love how you added a sponged orange glow behInd these cuties!
