Countdown To MFT’s New Starry Night Card Kit

Today begins the MFT Starry Night Card Kit Release previews! The Kit will be available this Tuesday, September 17, at 10am EST. Here’s what’s included in the kit:

I couldn’t wait to get busy with the new Night Sky Color Burst Trio!

I am such a huge fan of watercolor powders! I know a lot of crafters get intimidated, my only advise to that is put some gloves on (no blue fingers needed), and get busy. That’s exactly what I did here. And let me tell you- I made a MESS! I gently tapped the Blueberry and Field Day a few times over watercolor paper that was taped down to a clipboard, then sprayed the paper with shimmer water. I moved my clipboard around in a circular motion a couple of times to get the pigments moving, using paper towels I had handy to soak up any pooling colors. Once I liked where the colors were at, I used my heat tool to dry the panel. Next, I used the included Starry Nights Vertical Die-namics to die-cut the panel twice in a horizontal line. I made a another quick background with the Blueberry and Grape Jelly Color Burst powders, then die-cut a star from it.

I die-cut white card stock and Color Burst panel with a stitched rectangle Stax. I attached the watercolor panel with Scor Tape to a card base, then die-cut an opening in the white card stock with a Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics. I stamped part of the sentiment onto the bottom half of the white card stock, attached the die-cut star, and adhered both pieces to the card with foam adhesive. I stamped and white heat-embossed the word Star onto Blueberry card stock, die-cut it, and attached it with foam squares onto the star to finish the card.

  1. Love this card!! Also I really appreciate your directions of how to use the paints. I have to admit I’m a bit nervous. You made it sound so easy messy but easy and sounds like fun think I’m ready to try.

    1. You will love it. Just know a tiny bit goes a long way. And be aware your work area will get dirty. 😂

  2. That is gorgeous! Thanks for the instructions on how to use the watercolor powder. I was wondering how to get those gorgeous effects! Using the shimmer water is a great idea!
