Christmas Cards

Pretty Pink Posh October Release Blog Hop

Welcome to day one of a two-day blog hop, celebrating the new October Release, now available in the PPP shop! If you’re arriving from the talented Gemma C.’s blog, you’re in the right spot. A full list of the hop lineup is listed below, as well as details for giveaways on this two-day hop!

I have several cards to share today, starting with two featuring the Holiday Signs Stamp Set and coordinating dies.

I paired a Copic-colored Santa from the Holiday Stamp set with the new Whimsical Christmas stencil. I blended Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink over the stencil onto white card stock, then applied a thin layer of Nuvo Moonstone Glitter Paste before removing the stencil. I used Stitched Diamond Dies to die-cut two windows from a trimmed white card stock panel, and attached the panel over the stenciled background. I added the card front to a card base, and attached Santa with thin foam squares.

I used the adorable Holiday Signs Snowman for my second card.

I stamped and white heat-embossed the snowflake border from the new Winter Borders Stamp Set onto watercolor paper. I used Atlantis Burst, Cherry Bomb, and Blue Blitz Nuvo Shimmer Powders to add color to the background. I made a frame from white card stock, using a Scallop Frame Die. I attached the frame over the background with foam adhesive, then added it to a card base. I added the penguin with foam squares to finish the card.

I still had a bit of the snowflake background left over, so I made a quick clean and simple card with it.

I stamped and silver heat-embossed a sentiment from Winter Friends Stamp Set onto white card stock, and attached the snowflake panel. I trimmed the panel to fit a light gray card base.

My last set of cards features the new Joy Stamp Set, and coordinating dies.

I blended red ink over the Wide Stripe stencil onto white card stock. I trimmed the panel down to 4×5.25 inches, and die-cut JOY from the bottom right corner. I used the letters for the above card. I attached the letters to a white card stock panel, and added two small Copic colored images from the same stamp set as accents. I attached the panel to a card base with foam adhesive, and finished the card with a gold heat-embossed sentiment from the stamp set.

I used the die-cut striped panel to make a shaker card. I closed the front of the die-cut window with acetate, and attached the middle of the O back onto the acetate. I wrapped thin adhesive strips around the letters on the backside of the panel before adding Classic Confetti Mix. I closed the back of the window with anther piece of acetate, and used foam adhesive to attach the panel to a card base. I finished the card with a gold heat-embossed sentiment.

Thanks so much for spending time with me today. I hope I have helped inspire new ideas using these new products. Your next stop on the hop is my dear friend Adelle Emery.

  1. Wow! So many fun cards! Love the red and white striped “JOY” one! It’s reminiscent of elf’s stockings or the North Pole. Thank you so much for sharing all these beauties! 🙂

  2. The backgrounds are so pretty. The Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink with thin layer of Nuvo Moonstone Glitter Paste looks amazing. The first joy card is very cute too.

  3. Your first two cards are gorgeous. I just love what I’ve been seeing work that snowflake border die. I’m not really familiar with Nuvo shimmer powders, but they sure make a beautiful background. Your joy cards look so very festive-like candy canes work those stripes. I love the shaker.
