Christmas Cards

Holiday Inspiration With Essentials By Ellen and My Favorite Things

Hi friends! I have a special blog for today. Essentials By Ellen and My Favorite Things have come together for a festive Holiday Collaboration. I have a few cards to share using products from both companies’ October Release.

I combined the new MFT Elfin’ Around Die-namics with Essentials by Ellen Retro Holiday Greetings and Voices In My Head stamp sets. I stamped the young lady (LOVE her face!) near the bottom left corner, colored her with Copic Markers, then trimmed the panel with a stitched rectangle. I stamped a sentiment from Retro Holiday Greetings, and attached the panel to a card base with foam adhesive. I die-cut the elf hat from Red Hot card stock, and added shading with Electric Red ink and a blender brush. I die-cut the trim and ball with white card stock, and attached them with glue. I sprayed the hat with adhesive spray, then poured Distress Clear Rock Candy Glitter over the hat. Once dry, I added the hat to the card with thin foam squares.

My Next card features Ellen’s Dinomite Christmas stamp set.

I stamped and colored the images with Copic Markers, then used the coordinating dies to die-cut them. I stamped MFT’s Ho Ho Ho Background stamp onto white card stock with Grout ink before die-cutting a window using the MFT Classic Snow Globe Die-namics. I blended Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxides for the Snow Globe sky, attached two die-cut Classic Snow Globe hills, and added the images with thin foam squares. I poured a small pile of chunky glitter onto the dinosaur, then closed the the Snow Globe with a Classic Snow Globe Pouch. I attached the stamped front panel to the the globe with Scor Tape. I stamped and white heat-embossed a sentiment onto black card stock, and used the Snow Globe Base Die-namics to die-cut it. I attached it below the globe, then used foam adhesive to add the card front to a card base.

My last card features the adorable Essentials By Ellen Lil’ Squatch stamp set.

This Lil’ Squatch stamp set steals my heart. I live in the Seattle area, and Sasquatches have been leaving footprints in the mountain trails my whole life here. Lol… I decided to make my Squatches Merry by adding Santa hats from the Dynamite Christmas stamp set. I paired them with the bold MFT Merry And Bright Die-namics, die-cutting white card stock twice, and red glitter card stock once. I glued the white pieces together, then added the glitter die cut, off-setting it a little so the white could be a highlight.

For the background, I blended Black Soot Distress Oxide ink onto the edges of a Grout card stock panel. I used the Snowfall- Vertical stencil and embossing pen to add the snowfall to each side of the panel to make a snowfall vignette. I poured white embossing powder over the embossing ink, and melted the powder with a heat tool. I trimmed the panel before adding it to a card base with foam adhesive, then used thin foam squares to add the sentiment and Lil-Squatches.

Thanks so much for joining me today for this fun collaboration. You can find tons more inspiration and card ideas on the MFT Blog and Ellen Hutson Blog. Happy Friday!
