My Favorite Things December Release Countdown Begins!

The MFT December Release Countdown has started! There are fabulous product reveals on the MFT blog today, including the beautiful new Rose Garden stamp set.

For this card, I stamped and white heat-embossed the large bouquet onto Arches watercolor paper in two different positions. I used the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush colors to color the scene:

  • Pinks: 260 Deep Red, 230 Pale Rose, 028, Pale Pink
  • Greens: 043 Olive Green, 046 Mid Green, 053 Yellow Green
  • Yellows: 063 Ochre, 051 Lemon Yellow
  • 094 Gray Brown, 901 Gray Tint

I trimmed the panel, then stamped a sentiment from the Flowers In Bloom stamp set. I attached the panel to a card base with foam adhesive to finish the card.

Be sure to stop by the MFT blog to see more of today’s reveals, and wonderful design team inspiration. The new release will be available this Tuesday, December 10th, at 10am EST. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. This is beautiful! I love everything you do anyway! I have a very small collection of copics but I always see a lot of designers use ZIG. Are they more or less kinda like a watercolor brush?? Are they easier to use than just a watercolor on a brush?? I think I may need to invest in a few of these. Thanks!

    1. Ahh thanks Emma, you’re always so sweet. ❤️ Zigs are are filled with water-based dye, and the brush tip is almost like a #2 round paint brush. You can color on watercolor paper, or Bristol smooth paper. They blended beautifully together, or with water. I blend with both. The pigments are super vibrant, a little goes a long way. I wouldn’t say they’re easier to use than watercoloring with paints… just a different technique. There’s lots of videos on YouTube for ideas. You can find good prices for them on Amazon.

  2. How lovely! I want to buy some Zig markers (because you used them so nicely)! Love the shadows effect you did with the grey brown! Carol-Lynn
