Birthday Thinking Of You

My Favorite Things March Birthday Project

It’s time for the March MFT Birthday Project Challenge, and this month is a really fun theme. Before I get to that though, I just want to say that this is a trying time for all of us, and what better way to release stress than through crafting, right? I will be posting a lot in this next week or so, and I hope that I send inspiration and crafty ideas your way. Thank you for letting me have a little time out of your day, I truly appreciate your support and kind words. with that said, let’s get into this month’s theme: Flowers!

“Here at MFT, we have a deep affinity for flowers of all kinds…whimsical doodles, elegantly realistic renderings, and dimensional blooms that add texture and depth. We’re celebrating a garden of birthday blooms in this month’s challenge with a full bouquet of cards featuring flowers.”

I used my favorite MFT Floral stamps, Poppy Blooms and Poppies Background. I stamped the background with Milk Chocolate ink onto Primitive White card stock, and trimmed the panel with a stitched rectangle. I attached the panel to a card base with foam adhesive, then started coloring the spotlight poppy.

I used Copic Markers to color the bloom, then added fine details with sharp colored pencils. Once I was finished coloring, I used detail scissors to fussy cut the poppy. I rubbed the white edges of the flower with an E77 Copic marker , then used thin foam squares to add the flower to the card. My last step was adding a Bitty Birthday Wishes sentiment.

Now, it’s your turn! Be sure to head over to the MFT blog for more design team ideas and inspiration, then enter your birthday card for a chance to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
