Hey friends, I have an exciting YouTube Video to share with you today. Taylored Expressions has free Big Grumpy COVID-19 Sentiments available for download. I learned about this on the TE Channel, video found HERE.
There’s six sentiments available, and I used all six for today’s project. I started out by printing the sentiments onto Xpress-It Blending card, my go-to paper for Copic coloring.
These are all fun, and very accurate to what we ALL are going through. I live in Washington State, and we have been on Shelter-In-Place for two weeks now. We will be here until May 4, my daughter’s birthday, at the very earliest. I will be doing a lot of crafting through this month, since it brings me peace. (I should get some cleaning done too, right??)
Ok, If you watched the video, Taylor gave you all the info on how to get your download. It was really easy. I checked into my TE account, and picked Free Downloads under Get Inspired. I checked out, and received an email, with the download included. I printed the sentiments, then followed direction on the TE video to stamp Big Grumpy, using acetate as a guide.
I used acetate to help me place my sentiment perfectly under Big Grumpy, then stamped him with TE Oreo Ink. I did this six times, then colored the images.
Big Grumpy already comes with fabulous grumpy sentiments, but these new sentiments really hit home with today’s situation. I couldn’t wait to use them! I Colored them with the following Copic Markers:
- E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, bellyE40
- E18, E17, E15, E13, E11, belly Y000
- E37, E35, E33, E31, belly E41
- E09, E11, E21, E51, E50, belly YR000
- Sign: C03, C01, C00
- Nose and ears: E74, E77; E77, E79; ears-R00, R000
Now it was time to start assembling the cards. I used Blue Raspberry, Guava, and Toffee TE watercolors to make striped backgrounds, using a wide paint brush, and clean water.
I used double-sided adhesive to attach all of the elements together.
It took a few hours to do, and now I have six cards ready to go out with tomorrow mail!
I hope I have help inspiration for your next craft project. Thanks For stopping by!
