MFT And Friends May Release

It’s Release Day! The MFT May Release is now available in the MFT Shop. All of the new products you’ve seen these past 5 days can be found HERE. I picked the new Stacey Yacula’s Always Bring A Smile Stamp Set to showcase today.

Stacey’s illustrations always take me back to my vintage childhood books. Her whimsical lines make watercoloring so easy. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers on watercolor paper for my coloring. I always color with a swatch sheet next to me, mainly because I just pull markers and see if I can get good blends. For example, I used a blush pink and warm gray on the mushroom stem. There’s no rules, right? I colored in the scene, and then I got to the sleeping critter.

I do not know how to watercolor critters. I tried, but didn’t have good results. I will keep practicing, but until then… I stamped the image onto white card stock, colored him with Copic Markers, then fussy-cut him out. I glued him to the panel, attached the panel to a card base, and finished with a sentiment.

There’s tons of amazing inspiration being shared today over on the MFT blog. Be sure to stop by for more details on today’s release, giveaways, and meet this month’s guest designers. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I’m really impressed with how seamlessly you blended the watercolor background with the copic critter; I had no idea until I read your post. And wow, do I love that sentiment, especially right now. 10. Adorable and even though the squirrel and the scene were colored differently, they work so well together.
