My Favorite Things August Vault Release

Are you ready? The August MFT Vault has opened today, and there’s so much to see! You can find all of the new products HERE.

Party Like A Pirate… being a mother of two boys, this stamp set hit HOME! I colored these boys in a “dirty” manner, because my boys were always dirty while playing outside! I was very heavy-handed with E04 Copic marker on the skin areas. I contribute my coloring inspiration to Jessie Banks… I am obsessed with her coloring.

I started by stamping my big pirate. I fussy-cut a mask for him, covered him, and stamped the second pirate. I masked him too, then made the background. The background was ink-blended with a blend of dye inks. I removed the masks, and colored the images with Copic Markers.

I finished the card panel with a heat-embossed sentiment, and attached it to a card base.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog to see all of August’s Vault Release products, as well as inspiration from the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  4. Your coloring is out of this world. Makes me want to keep practicing so mine will look like that some day. This flat card comes to live with such dimension, just wonderful.

  5. Really adorable card and I can see your boys out reenacting this seen, getting dirty, just like real pirates. And, your background is gorgeous!

  6. I’m pretty sure I’ve given those little boys a bath at the end of a long day of pirate play! Such an adorable pair, and your coloring is off the charts good.

  7. Man… I am not a colorer and when I look at this it is a photograph quality. Just gorgeous. This needs to be framed in an adventurous little kiddos room!!

  8. I am marveling at your color choices and blending. So realistic. Can’t believe you have only used Copics for 2 years.

  9. OMGOODNESS……Your colouring is amazing! I am hoping to invest in a starter set of copics soon. Thank you for sharing.
