Colorado Craft Company & Catherine Pooler Designs Blog Hop

Hi friends! I’m really excited to be taking part of today’s Colorado Craft Company & Catherine Pooler Designs Fall Blog Hop! There’s a fantastic lineup, filled with fabulous design ideas and inspiration. You will find links to today’s designers listed below, as well as details for a giveaway on the hop. I have a few cards to share, so let’s get started!

This is the newest Colorado Craft Company Lovely Legs stamp set: Season Girls Autumn. I stamped the image with Milk Chocolate ink onto Copic-friendly paper. I used a rainbow of autumn colors to color in the scene. For a muted background sky, I colored first with BG90, then B00. Once finished, I trimmed the panel, and mounted it onto black card stock. I attached it to a card base, and stamped the sentiment with CP Mini Midnight ink.

I was really happy with how this first card turned out… and then I watched Ardyth Percy-Robb YouTube video (found HERE) on making backgrounds with CP mini ink pads. I loved the video, and had to try it out myself. I practiced a few times, and ended up with a few panels that I loved! One was perfect for my colored image, so I removed it from the white card base, and attached the new panel.

Same colored scene, completely different look, right? and since the background is so bold, I decided to not add a sentiment. I used Peppermint Scrub, Mandarin Spice, and Sauna inks, all found in the CP Minis Paradise Found set. I was most heavy-handed with the Sauna ink, and added the bolder colors to the corners.

Copic Colors used: Yellows- Y21, Y23, YR23, V93; Reds- R59, R29, R35, R32; Blues- B97, B95, B93, B91; Browns- E59, E37, E35, E33; Greens- YG99, YG97, YG95, YG91; Pinks- R85, R83, R81; Oranges- E08, YR18, YR12

There’s a gorgeous sentiment in the Lovely Legs stamp set that I dedicated my last card to. I used another one of my favorite swiped backgrounds to white heat-emboss the sentiment onto.

Autumn is the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful… I just love that saying! The background swiping was done with Sauna, Mandarin Spice, Eucalyptus, and Daydream (which happens to be my favorite color in the set!). I mounted that panel onto white card stock, then made an ink-smashed panel, using the same inks. I tapped the pads onto my glass mat, sprayed with water, and smooshed watercolor paper into it. I used my heat tool to dry the panel, dabbing any pooling ink with a baby wipe. once dry, I trimmed it, and sandwiched it in between vellum and the embossed sentiment.

That’s all that I have for today, thank you so much for stopping by!

Now onto the GIVEAWAY…

Each Company will be giving away $30 store credit. Be sure to leave a comment at each stop for a chance to win!
