The Greetery’s Pine Blossom Christmas

Hi friends! Thanks so much for joining me today. I have a fun project to share, focussing on The Greetery’s Pine Blossom stamp set, And Shiplap Builder die.

I started by picking out a palette of Distress Oxide Ink colors. My mother-in-law was my inspiration, and purple is her favorite color. I used Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, Wild Honey, and Black Soot on the large flowers, and Dusty Concord for the small flowers. The stems and leaves are Forest Moss, Chipped Sapphire, and Crushed Olive. I used finger daubers to add the ink to the stamps.

The sentiments are also from Pine Blossom stamp set. I blended Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide inks onto white card stock, and tapped a bit of ink and paint onto the panels. Once dry, I die-cut them with a Crimped Frame, and mounted them on coordinating card stock.

For the background, I followed directions from Betsy’s recent YouTube Video. I did a blotch blend of Victorian Velvet, Weathered Wood, Dusty Concord, and Milled Lavender Distress Oxides onto inexpensive watercolor paper, and I quickly brushed watered-down white gouache paint with a wide paint brush. Once the panel was dry, I die-cut the Shiplap pieces, and attached them to a panel. I trimmed the panel, assembled the card front, and adhered them to card bases.

I love how this color palette turned out! Purple is not my go-to color for Christmas, but it works, and my mother-in-law is going to love it! I hope I have helped with inspiration using these products together. Thanks so much for joining me!

  1. Wow, these are beautiful! Your ink blending on the florals is so pretty and your shiplap background is wonderful!

  2. Oh how gorgeous… I know she will love it, I sure do! I also know I have all these components and need to get them out and play with them. I think purple is very dramatic and makes for a lovely Christmas color. Beautiful job sweet girl…

    1. Thank you, Anne. I’ve collected so much purple supplies just for my mil. 😂 she’s obsessed with purple. Dad had to draw the line when it came down to a purple car. Lol

  3. Spectacular cards and ink blending perfection using this gorgeous color palette, Angelica! I love purple, too, but I’m not obsessed…yet.

  4. Hi Angelica! At first glance, your gorgeous cards took my breath away! One of those “ oh, Wow!” reactions. I’ve never seen anything like them! I’m very appreciative of the process and ink colors you shared. There have been many times that I’ve tried to learn how a designer achieved a technique or look but guessing many times leads to frustration and tossing it. May I ask a question please? What color cardstock did you use to back the small sentiment frame? Thank you again! 💜😊👏

    1. Hi Stephanie! Thank you so much for your kind words. The card stock I used is Mulberry by Bazzill
