Thinking Of You

Colorado Craft Company June Reveal

Happy Release Day! I am so excited to be part of today’s  Colorado Craft Company June Release. This is another Anita Jeram release, filled with her whimsical characters. Anita is an accomplished children’s book author and illustrator:

“Having sold over 47 million copies worldwide, she has truly captured the hearts of children and adults alike. Now, together with 3C, we bring you stamps, dies, papers, and stencils that are sure to help you create handmade cards that are fun, kind, and whimsical.”

The moment I saw this Play Time stamp set, my heart melted! There’s two images in this set. The first image is mice playing with tea, and the second is these mice playing with makeup. My daughter is four, and her favorite activity right now is anything makeup! She even got a vanity table for her birthday last month. So I had to color these mice, if anything, just to hear her say “AWWWW!” And she did.

I used Copic markers to color the scene. I started with cool grays for the ground shadows and mice, then moved on to teals, reds, and gold.

  • Gold: Y21, Y26, Y28
  • Pink: RV19, RV14, RV21
  • Teal: BG11, BG72
  • Red: R59, R29, R35, R32
  • Violet: V99, V95, V93, V91
  • Neutral Gray: N8, N6, N4

I stamped the sentiment, and decided the scene was a little too plain. So I pulled out Stripes And Dots Background, and stamped a black strip pattern. I attached it to the card base, and finished with a strip of dark pink glitter paper.

That’s all that I have for now… Your next stop on the hop is the amazing Daniel West.

  1. Love your color choices – especially on the gold compact. And your bold stripe pattern on the side highlights the False eyelashes, which are a really fun part of this stamp.

  5. I absolutely love your card!! So cute! I would love to make this for my daughter-in-law, she loves makeup. Thank you for the inspiration.

  6. I LOVE THIS STAMP SET. It reminds me of my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves to wear makeup—she did yesterday and it looked like she had a sunburn on one cheek 🙂 I keep going back and forth between liking this set most, and the big wedding scene. I think that the wedding scene wins, but….

  7. The colors you chose along with the layout are so complete. They make the card look fresh and current. Also, I adore the bit of sparkle. What card about make-up could possibly be complete without a bit of glitter?

  8. Oh this is such an adorable image! That is just sooo cute that the mice are playing with the huge false eyelashes! I love how you’ve colored this and kept the card so clean and simple!

  9. How can this card not make any woman grin from ear to ear?! To border it with the black & white striped paper along with the sparkly dark pink strip tops it off wonderfully.

  10. What a cool card. I laughed out loud when I clicked on your card. The eyelash idea is way too cute!

  13. I can still remember my daughter playing dress up and using lipstick… that was more than 40 years ago…. time passesmtoo quickly for sure! Love this and these new sets are amazing again! Thanks for sharing this.

  14. Glad to see the use of a stamp other than
The wedding ones. They’re great, but I’m older and not many weddings in my world these days. The idea of the side border is a wonderful jumping off point for me. Inspirational for certain!
