The Greetery Capturing Summer Collection

There’s a new collection coming to The Greetery shop on Wednesday! The new Capturing Summer Collection is just as beautiful and romantic as you would expect from Betsy. She really outdid herself with this one. I went back to my evenings in the Alabama summertime with a few of these products.

I have a few cards to share, featuring these new products, so let’s get started.

This is Sitting Pretty Die. I die-cut the porch from white card stock, then quickly brushed my gray ink blending brush over it. I used a couple cool gray Polychromos pencils to add some shadows, then added accessories from Sitting Pretty Accessories Die. To give a “mountain ridge-look” off at a distance, I used a stamp from Sunset Skies. The ink-blended background is Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. I splattered a bit of white acrylic paint for a starry background. I left a sentiment off, and haven’t put the panel on a card base yet. I am kind of leaning towards framing it, and sending it to my old neighbor in Alabama. (she brought watermelons from her garden to everyone on the block. Such a GEM!)

And talking about southern summer nights, you should’ve seen my face the first time I saw fireflies! I always saw them in childrembook illustrations, but to see them in real life was so enchanting!

That was my inspiration for this next card. We didn’t have too many fireflies in our backyard, since we lived in a neighborhood, but my mother-in-law was right down the road, on 25 acres of land. They were everywhere there! And they were so vibrant! I tried to capture that in this Jumbo Jar Die. I die-cut black card stock with A Side Of Greens die, and sprayed it with iridescent Glitter Dust (outside, in a box, of course!) The background is a blend of Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord, and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. The Fireflies are from Fireflies Die. I die-cut them from yellow card stock, and colored them with N9, N7,N5 Copic markers. The sentiment is from Curio Labels stamp set… more on that tomorrow.

My last card features Firefly Nights stamp set.

This card so quick and easy to assemble. I die-cut Neenah Soalar White 110lb card stock with the small Postage Frame. I stamped the rays with a bright yellow ink, then added the black text. I ink-blended TE Honey ink, and Pinkfresh Studios Marigold ink onto white card stock, and die-cut it with the new Shining Light die. I used thin foam squares to attach the die cut to the panel, and backed it with grey pattern paper (Sunny Studio Stamps).
