Thinking Of You

The Greetery’s Nouveau Notes Collection

There’s a new release arriving in The Greetery Shop tomorrow, and I am so excited for it! I love making stationery sets, and putting them in pretty handmade boxes. I’ve shared a few ideas here on my blog. One particular box idea I kept to myself, knowing it had the potential of becoming a die. I approached Betsy about it a couple months ago, and asked if she would be interested in working with it, and she said Yes! When she said yes, I was shocked, happy, surprised, excited… so many emotions! Well, the box is here, and Betsy created a whole stationery line around it. I have a lot to share, including a video, so let’s get started.

This is the new Stationery Box. I paired it with 6 cards, all designed with the new Deco Triangles Hot Foil Plate. I picked Mushroom, Pink Champagne, and Blue Corn TE card stock colors for the card fronts. The Gemini Foil colors used were Silver Shimmer, Cerise, and Gold. I made two cards in each color, and finished them with a heat-embossed sentiment from the new Everyday Labels stamp set. I die-cut them with the coordinating die. (The coordinating die set works with both Everyday Labels stamp set and Handmade Labels stamp set.)

Let’s talk about the box. The die comes with three pieces- a base (two pieces need to be cut), the top flap, and a half stitched circle to die-cut a box-front opening. The base die is 5 5/8th”x 6 5/8th”, so it does fit on a 6″ cutting board. I turned my die at a slight angle before running it through my die-cut machine. The finished box measures 4 1/2″ x 5 7/8″. It is 3/4″ wide, and can easily hold 6 cards (one-layer cards) and envelopes.

I die-cut white card stock, and decorated them before assembling the boxes.

I decided to foil the Earl Grey flap to coordinate with the cards. I used Silver Shimmer foil, and ran the foil plate through my Gemini FoilPress Machine. The result is so stunning in person, the foil is super shiny.

To keep the flap closed, I used Basic Grey Magnetic Discs. One inside the front of the box, and one on the flap. These discs have been a must-have in my craft room for a couple years now, and am so excited that they will now be in The Greetery shop! These magnets are small, but strong. They’re great to use for so many projects.

The box can be trimmed down to make a smaller size for notecards. There’s two new notecard dies in this collection that are perfect for this box.

I used the new Crimped Notecard die to die-cut 6 white card bases. I decorated them with a stamped image from the new Floral Delicacy stamp set, and finished with a sentiment from Reflections stamp set. I used a few Copic markers to add a bit more depth to the flowers and leaves. I picked colors that coordinate with the new 4″x 4″ envelopes that is in this release.

I love how elegant this floral image is, and it coordinated perfectly with the pink Painterly Stripes background on the box. This smaller box measures 4 1/8″x 4 1/2″. I trimmed the base panels to 4 1/8″, measuring from the bottom scored line, up.
