Colorado Craft Company Catch A Falling Star Release

Can you believe it’s been one year since Colorado Craft Company debuted Anita Jeram’s illustrations? I have had so much fun this past year creating cards and handmade gifts with her illustrations, and today I have a watercolor project to share, featuring the NEW Big & Bold Twinkle Little Star stamp set. I have lots to share, including details on a giveaway, and a FREE SHIPPING code, so let’s get started.

This is one of three large 6 x 6 stamp sets in this release. The images are large, so I decided to make a frame-able watercolor picture. I stamped a large panel of Arches Hot Press watercolor paper, and stamped the images with my Fiskars Stamp Press. I pulled out a few watercolors, and made a. galaxy background. I worked from the left top corner down, changing my colors from blue/violet, to pink/yellow. I did three layers, then covered the stamped images with masks, and splattered acrylic paint over the panel.

Since the background took awhile to make, I decided I was more comfortable coloring the images with Copic Markers. (I didn’t want to take a chance on messing up the panel!) I stamped the images onto X-Press It blending card with Gina K Black Amalgam ink, and colored them with the following colors: mouse- C4, C2, C0, Colorless Blender; stars- V93, YR23, Y23, YR32. Once finished, I fussy-cut the images, ran a black marker around the edges to hide the white core, and glued them onto the panel.

I am LOVING these large Anita Jeram illustrations, and I know you will too! They’re a great size for 5×7 cards, and handmade gifts.

  1. Love the large mouse illustration stamp by Anita Jeram. Your galaxy background is absolutely beautiful!

  2. Angelica, I hate to sound like some crazy person but I do love everything you do. I was hoping you’d be doing on of these adorable Anita Jeram mice. When I’m feeling like I can’t get my images right, no matter how hard I try… I watch your videos and try again. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us!

    1. You don’t sound crazy. Lol thank you for your kind words. I’m glad I can help inspire ideas. ❤️

  3. I am loving the size of these also. Your galaxy reminds me of Fivel singing that wonderful song “someway out there” These mice have some great size and I like your idea of them being frameable. Gorgeous job sweet girl, hoping all is well with you all…

  4. Hola, Angelica! I’m probably the only weirdo to say this, but I love that you use the stamp press because I love the stamp press better than anything else. 😂😂😂 Super cute card, btw. Every night, I wander out to my backyard to say my prayers under the stars. I don’t live too far from downtown San Antonio, but have been fortunate enough to still see a good amount of stars. With all that I have been through (health wise), it’s my small attempt to touch the face of God. 🌌🌃🌆 Warm hugs!

  5. So beautiful! Thanks for sharing your background process- I feel like I am looking at the sky for real!

  6. Beautiful background! I’ve seen some sunsets recently that has those same colors. I love to watch the sunrise and sunsets.
