Colorado Craft Company Daffodil Mice + Free Shipping

Hi friends! I am back with two more cards, using stamps from Colorado Craft Company’s May Release. If you missed the release blog hop, you can find that blog HERE. Before we get started, I just want to let you know Colorado Craft Company is offering free shipping today through tomorrow night, midnight Mountain time. No code needed at checkout. (International shipping will get a $6.95 discount.)

I picked the adorable Daffodil Mice stamp set to work with today. This stamp set comes with two mice and two flowers, a daffodil and a tulip. I used the same two stamps for both of my cards, switching up Copic colors for each card. I stamped the tulip first onto Xpress It Blending Card, using Taylored Expressions Chocolate Truffle Hybrid Ink. (I love stamping with brown ink. It really softens the lines.) I also stamped the flower onto a Post-It note, and cut out the stem. I covered the stamped stem, and stamped the mouse holding onto the stem. I did this for both cards, using the same Post-It mask. I removed the mask, and started coloring.

Copic Colors used for this card:

  • Mouse: E18, E17, E15, E13, E11, R20, R000
  • Stem: YG99, YG97, YG93
  • Petals: RV99, RV95, RV93, RV91
  • Shadow: T-3, T-1, T-0

Before I started coloring, I did color in the eyes with a black pencil. I also used an Indigo Blue colored pencil to deepen the darker areas after I finished coloring with markers. Once I finished, I trimmed the panel with stitched rectangle die, backed the panel with black card stock, and attached it to a Kraft card base. I finished the card with a white heat-embossed sentiment from the same stamp set, using the coordinating die to die-cut the sentiment.

My second card is the same, I just changed up the colors, and stamped the panel in a horizontal position. I colored the eyes in first with a black pencil, then used the following Copic colors:

  • Mouse: E04, E11, E21, E51, R20, R000
  • Stem: G29, YG17, YG03
  • Petals: RV29, RV14, RV13, RV21
  • Shadow: T-3, T-1, T-0

I trimmed the panel, backed it with black card stock, and attached it to a Kraft card base. I finished the card with a white heat-embossed sentiment from Floral Corners stamp set, using the coordinating die to die-cut the words.

That’s all that I have for today. I hope I was able to share some tips with you, and give you ideas on using this stamp set. Thanks so much for stopping by. I will be back soon with another project, so I will see you then!
