Colorado Craft Company Sweater Weather + Video

Happy Christmas in July! I am spending the last two days of July sharing Christmas card ideas, using products from Colorado Craft Company’s July Release. Today we are focusing on Copic coloring, and I picked two new Kris Lauren illustrated stamp sets to work with.

My first card showcases Chillin’ Gnomies stamp set. I picked three characters from the stamp set to use. I stamped the images onto X-Press It Blending Card with Gina K Designs black Amalgam Ink, then used the following Copic Markers to color the images:

  • Santa: Reds- R39, R27, R17, R14; Beard and fur trim- C2, C1, C0; Skin- E51, E11, E04; Shoes and belt- C9; Buckle and bell- YR23, Y23
  • Bear: BV000, B000, B0000; cheeks, nose and ears- R00, R000
  • Rabbit: E51, E11, E04; Ears- R20, R00, R000

I used the coordinating Dies to die-cut the images, then started getting the background ready.

I cut a hill mask with scissors, and attached the mask to the bottom of a white card panel. I ink-blended a night sky using Pinkfresh Studio Bubble Gum, Sapphire, and Stargazer inks. Once the panel was completely dry, I white heat-embossed stars using star stamps from Chillin’ Gnomies. I also white heat-embossed white dots to the background, using a Ranger embossing pen. Once the night sky was done, I trimmed the background, attached the panel to a card base, and added the colored images with foam squares. I drew quick shadows for the characters to sit on, and finished the card with a die-cut Merry from Savy Sentiments-Holiday Quick Cards stamp set, and Christmas from Sweater Weather stamp set.

My next card features Sweater Weather stamp set. These sweaters are so adorable, and the characters on them make me smile.

This large stamp set comes with 6 sweaters, and I colored every one of them. It took a while, and was totally worth the time. I stamped them onto Xpress-It Blending Card with Tailored Expression Chocolate Truffle ink, and colored them with Copic markers. I kept all of the Copic colors the same:

  • Reds: R59, R29, R24, R22
  • Blue Greens: BG18, BG15, BG32, G00
  • Dark Grays: W9, W6
  • Light Grays: W0, W2, W4
  • Browns: E25, E15, E13, E11

For the background, I used Poppy Seed ink to stamp a snowflake from Nordic Snowflakes stamp set onto Poppy Seed card stock. I trimmed the panel down, attached it to a card base, and used thin foam squares to add the sweaters. I finished the card with a Sweater Weather sentiment.
