Hi friends… Welcome to the Waffle Flower August Release Blog Hop! I’m happy to be hopping with the folks from Waffle Flower to show you all the fun new stuff awaiting you on the Waffle Flower website! Be sure to check out each stop in today’s blog hop for fun, inspiration, and chances to win some of these new release goodies! If youre coming from Joy Baldwin’s blog, you’re in the right spot. You can find the full list of the hop over on Waffle Flower’s blog.

I have a couple cards to share, starting with this Book Cover Die card. My grandmother is a retired librarian, and my sister and I spent summers at her house, lost in books she would bring home for us. When I saw this cover die, it took me right back to grandma’s house. I used the Book Cover Die to die-cut watercolor paper, and taped off the edges. I colored the panel with watercolors, and set it aside to dry. For the background, I blended two inks onto white card stock to make a vignette, and stamped a sentiment from Story Sentiments stamp set. I attached the Book Cover to the panel, and got it on a card base.

My next card features the new Ornate Bookmark Die.

I went through my folders of paper scraps, and pulled out a rainbow, picking light and dark in each color family. The ornate tag reminded me of book spines, so I thought I would make a rainbow of books. I die-cut all the bookmarks, making sure the lighter color was die-cut with the ornate die. Once I glued the pieces together, I attached them to a slimline card panel, trimmed the edges off, and got the panel onto a card base. I finished with a white heat-embossed sentiment from Story Sentiments stamp set.

There’s so much more to see from this release, so be sure to keep hopping along. Next on the hop is my sweet friend, Tiffany Pryce Russom!

Hi, Angelica – These are real showstoppers! I am thrilled with this release and really love that you have chosen book- and reading-related items to feature. We need to get our culture back to being excited about reading instead of always tech- everything. I try to read one novel/week with an occasional non-fiction book thrown in. Your cards are beautiful – thanks for inspiring crafters everywhere with your awesome creativity!

Thank you, Lori. I still go to the bookstore monthly. We luckily have one open near us. I am now introducing my daughter to books I read as a little girl. Pippi Longstocking is what we’re reading now. ❤️
