Newton’s Nook Designs’s Deck The Halls With Inky Paws Week: Day 4

Happy Thursday, friends! I am really excited to be joining Newton’s Nook Designs for their yearly Deck The Halls With Inky Paws Week. I’m the featured designer today over on the store blog, and thought I would share my card here, too!

I used Winter Birds stamp set to make this scene. I did a few steps to build the scene before coloring. I stamped the branch first, using Milk Chocolate ink. The bird stamp I changed a bit. I masked the feet before inking the stamp. I removed the mask, and stamped the bird above the branch. I covered both images with masking paper, and blended blue ink to make the sky. My last step before coloring was drawing the legs. I used a Copic Multiliner pen to draw legs for the bird to be standing on the branch.

I colored the scene with Copic Markers. I finished the bird with colored pencils, giving the bird a feather-like texture. I stamped and white heat-embossed the sentiment, then add snow to the scene with a white gel pen. I trimmed the panel down, backed it with vellum, and attached it to a card base with foam adhesive.

Copic Colors used: Bird- B91, B93, B95, B97; E42, E43, E44; N8, N6, N4; C00. Branch- E29, E37, E35, E33.

Thanks so much for joining me today. Be sure to stop by Newton’s Nook Designs Blog to see more inspiration from this week’s guests! I will be back tomorrow with more winter ideas. See you then!
