My Favorite Things Icing On The Cupcake Card Kit

Surprise! MFT has a new Icing On The Cupcake Card Kit available, and it’s a cute one! Here’s a picture of the contents:

I have two cards to share, using this kit.

I started with the background. I blended a soft rainbow of ink colors over the Sprinkles Stencil, then added a thin layer of Translucent Embossing Paste before removing the stencil. I cleaned the stencil with soapy water, and put the panel aside to dry.

Meanwhile, I used the card stock in the kit to die-cut the cupcakes. I used Copic Marker C0 to add shade in the creases of the frosting. once the panel was dry, I die-cut a frosting window, and attached a cupcake shaker pouch. I filled the pouch with sprinkles, then used pattern paper to close it. I adhered the panel to a card base, and added the cupcakes. I trimmed the edges, and finished the card with a white heat-embossed sentiment.

My next card features frosted cupcakes!

I smeared a scoop of Ranger Embossing paste onto a craft sheet, then colored the paste with a drop of liquid watercolor. I die-cut four icing tops out of white heavy weight card stock, then used the negative die-cut as a stencil. I frosted the icing cuts with 4 different colors. I let the card stock dry for several hours. Once dry, I assembled the card.

To assemble the slim line card, I blended Cotton Candy and Pineapple ink onto white card stock. I trimmed the panel, and stamped the sentiment. I added the cupcakes with thin foam squares, and die-cut cherries. I added shimmer and shine to the cherries with a shimmer pen and Crystal Glaze. I wanted to add one last element to the frosting to finish the card. I added a thin line of Ranger Multi Media Matte to the bottom of each frosting, and poured Distress Clear Rock Candy glitter over the glue. Once dry, I tapped off the rest of the glitter.
