Christmas Cards Handmade Gifts

Prima Christmas Market Folio Project + Video

Hi friends! I hope you all are well. We’ve been pretty busy around the house here, but I found some time this morning to make a turorial on a folio I decided to send to my family this Christmas. This folio is super easy to make, and there’s only a small amount of supplies needed, most are probably already in your craft area. I used a score board, some adhesive, a few craft tools, and pretty Christmas paper.

Hello Prima Marketing INC Christmas Market paper collection!! How pretty is this paper?? There’s a reason why my blog is named “My Love for Paper”. I’m obsessed with paper! I can’t figure out if I buy paper to hoard or to use sometimes, lol. I actually forgot how much I love pattern paper for a few years. I’ve been so into stamping and cardmaking, I completely forgot how much excitement I get from new (and old!) paper collections. Fast forward to last week’s shopping trip on scrapbook.com. I just happened to search for christmas paper, and came across Prima’s Christmas Market paper. Gasp! You all know how much I love distress, and these distressed illustrations have my heart! This pad is filled with gorgeous double-sided papers, some with tags and ephemra. I ended up inking all of the edges of the papers and tags with Walnut Stain Distress Ink after I made the tutorial. I really like how the inked edges turned out!

I also appreciate how much pink is used throughout this collection. You know I try to sneak [ink into most of my projects, even if its something for my dad! I couldn’t wait to start creating with this paper, though I do have to admit it was pretty hard to cut the paper. (Again- obsessed!) I did only use papers from this collection for this folio, no card stock needed!

I have a full tutorial (link is down below) on how I put this together, and here are the measurements I used in the tutorial:

  • Cover: 12×7, scored at 3 3/4, 4, 8, 8 3/8 on 12 inch side
  • Page one: 4 3/4 x7, scored at 1/2 and 3/4 on 4 3/4 inch side
  • Page two: 4 1/2×7, scored at 1/2 and 5/8 on 4 1/2 inch side
  • 4 long pockets: 2 3/4 x8, scored on 1/2 inch on 2 3/4 side, and .5 and 7.5 on 8 inch side
  • Large pocket for center of folio: 4 7/8 x 47/8, scored at 1/2 inch on three sides
  • Small pocket for center of folio: 3×4 7/8, scored at 1/2 on 3 inch side, and 1/2 and 4 3/8 on 4 7/8 side.

I also made a folio using Prima’s Candy Cane Lane paper collection. This paper collection might be my favorite christmas paper ever! I actually went to buy another pack this morning, since mine is almost gone, and its sold out! I just bought my paper pad last week! lesson learned, I should’ve bought two! lol There are single papers still available in this line, so I will put links down below if you want to check them out.

  2. Prima paper is my absolute favorite, but I don’t know exactly what to do with it. So, guess what? I hoard it. I am sooooooo thrilled to find your blog and your videos. This folio is just precious and I feel sure I can make it. Must check right away on the paper. Crushed to hear Candy Cane Lane is sold out.

    1. You’re going to love making the folio. And yes- I know all about hoarding. It almost hurts to cut into paper. Lol
