Papertrey Ink April Release + Video

Hello, friends! Today we are taking a close look at Papertrey Ink April Release. Papertrey Ink reached out and asked if I would like to take part in their April release, and I happily accepted. I was sent the entire release, and I did my best to touch all of the products in some way.

Let’s start with Into The Blooms: Mushroom die set. I die-cut white card stock with this set, and inked the leaves and shrooms with Distress Oxide inks. Once finished, I glued the pieces together. Next, I made a Reflections: April frame for the shrooms to sit in. I stamped a Sapling Frames sentient in brown ink, and attached the frame to a card base. I added the mushrooms with thin foam squares to finish the card.

I used the Reflections: April frame die-cut for this next card. I stamped Reflection: April Mini stamp sentiment onto the die-cut, and inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide inks. I stamped a card base with flowers from Blissful Blooms stamp set, using Pinkfresh Studio Inks. I inked the edges of the card with Warm Buff ink, and attached the sentiment with thin foam adhesive.

My next two cards are Dad-themed, starting with this Hats Off To Dad die. How fun is this hat?? I die-cut white card stock, inked the card stock with Distress Oxide ink, and attached the hat to a Cross Stitched background. I finished the card with a Hats Off To Dad sentiment.

For the second card, I used Argyle Stencil Collection to make a simple background. I picked colors to match my husband’s favorite flannel. I inked the edges of the panel with Warm Buff ink, and finished the card with a Father’s Day sentiment.

Up next is Life’s Great Adventures stamp set. I made a night scene with Distress Oxide inks, and stamped the images. I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images, and made this camping scene.

The next two cards features my personal favorite stamp set in this collection, Towering Trees. I used Distress Ink Cubes and a waterbrush to do some faux watercoloring. For this tree, I used Old Paper, Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, and Wild Honey on the top of the tree, and Walnut Stain and Scorched Timber on the trunk and branches. Scorched Timber was used for shadows on the trunk, and on the leaves.

I did the same technique for this next card, stamping a smaller tree from Towering Trees stamp set. I picked Old Paper and Forest Moss Distress inks this time to color in the top of the tree.

You can watch the faux watercolor process HERE:

I had a lot of fun with this release, and was pleasantly surprised on how easy these cards came together. I hope I was able to pass on some ideas and inspiration your way. That’s all that I have for now. Take care, friends!
