My Favorite Things February Release Countdown: 3 Days Until The Big Release

We are at the halfway point of the MFT February Release Countdown! There’s a new round of product reveals on the MFT Blog today, and I picked a few to use on today’s card.

I used the new Number Jumble Background to “trap” color. I put the Background stamp into my MISTI, and colored the stamp with a rainbow of Tombow Markers. I sprayed the stamp lightly with water, activating the Tombow ink, and stamped watercolor paper with it. Once the paper was dry, I prepped it with anti-static powder, and re-stamped it with clear embossing ink. I poured clear embossing powder over the panel, tapped off the excess, and melted the powder with my heat tool. This trapped the colors under the melted powder. Next, I taped the panel to a board, and used a large flat watercolor brush to brush clean water over the panel. The water moved the inks that weren’t embossed, making a soft rainbow background. After the panel was dry, I trimmed it with a stitched rectangle STAX, and attached it to a card base with foam adhesive.

I die-cut white card stock that had been sprayed with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Spray, using the new Perfect-Fit Balloon Die-Namics. I blended a bit more ink around the outside edges, then attached it to the panel with thin foam squares. I added the sentiment, string, and bow to finish the card.

Thanks so much for joining me today. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog to see all of today’s product sneak peeks, and check out the all of the fun projects the design team has made. Everything you see this week will be available on Tuesday, February 4th, at 10am EST.
