Birthday

Let’s Celebrate!

I can’t believe my baby girl is about to turn one! It’s time for me to get invitations out and the cupcakes ordered.I made 6 of these adorable birthday invitations. I used Sunny Studio Stamps Tiny Dancers and Bold Balloons Stamp Sets. I also used MFT’s Radiating Rays stencil, and Distress Oxide inks.

My first step was to figure out how I wanted to stamp the girls. I did this on a practice paper. Once I liked the layout, I stamped all the girls 6 times on Simon Says Stamp Masking Paper and fussy cut them out. I then started my stamping. Using my practice sheet as a guide, I stamped all the girls, masking them along the way. I then taped the card front down on my craft mat and aligned the stencil over it. I used Fossilized Amber and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Inks for the yellow rays, and Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Oxide Inks for the pink rays. After inking all 6, I then sprayed them all with Glimmer Spritz for lots of sparkle. I removed the masks and began coloring. I’m fairly new to coloring hair and skin, so I practiced a LOT before coloring the card fronts. It took awhile to figure out color combos. I ended up using Spectrum Noir markers and Prismacolor pencils for the hair, Copic markers for the skin, and Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils for the tutus. I attached strips of matching paper and attached them under the girls as a “stage”, stamped the sentiment, and added Pretty Pink Posh star sequins for the finishing touch. after cutting them to size, I adhered them to an A2 size cardbase. These Tiny Dancers are so adorable, and they match Vera’s birthday tutu perfectly!

With the same steps, I also made a birthday card using My Favorite Things Adorable Elephants and Mini Clouds stencil.
